あと72日 盛り上がる前に言うね?

72 days left. I'll tell you before things get exciting, okay?

Hey there!!

This is Oda, practicing standard Japanese as part of my preparation to become a civilian!

#It'sHardToBeA Civilian

Today, I want to talk about something very raw.

It's about

how I feel I need to speak up before the Firefighter Muscle Calendar takes off!

That's what this is about.

Now, to the main point.

First, the fundamental reason for this project is to support children, who are a precious asset to society.

Also,

① It increases expectations for firefighters

→ Making them heroes and boosting motivation!

② It builds a community among firefighters

→ Information sharing

→ Preventing them from being a big fish in a small pond

are the reasons.

These are the reasons.

But behind this, there's something I don't normally need to say, but I'll say it because if I don't, it might be misunderstood.

That is,

『I'm going to get paid too.』

I'm saying this because I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea, but there are many things in this world that are simply self-sacrifice under the guise of volunteering.

And that system often fails.

#I'veBeenThere

#I'll talk about my bitter experience later in an article titled "On the Nature of Volunteering (Draft)"

#I'm writing the article, but I'll publish it later due to circumstances

However, many Japanese people tend to think that receiving money is a bad thing.

#According to the Japanese Guilt Association

#There'sNoSuchAssociation

Also,

The goal is social contribution!

But as soon as people find out that I'm receiving money,

they start calling me

『A fraud!』 or

『A hypocrite!』

#WhyTheHell

#WhoInTheWorldWorksForFree

#Well, I guess there are some

#Like the old me

So from now on,

I will thoroughly and boldly explain why that person's argument is flawed.

First, it costs money to make a Firefighter Muscle Calendar.

If the idea that we shouldn't charge money for this project is correct, would you pay the printing company, the server fees for the e-commerce site, and the photographer?

『Of course! You ordered it, so you have to pay! You little brat!』

If that's the case, what about the money for promoting it on the social media I use, creating the product, building the e-commerce site, and recruiting models?

『Of course! Since you came up with it, you have to be the one to make the sacrifice! You little brat!』

You say?

What's more, this world is run on capitalism.

People who earn a lot of money pay a large percentage in taxes.

#ProgressiveTaxation

Suppose I make a 10 million yen profit from the Firefighter Muscle Calendar.

Then about half of it will be taken in taxes.

This tax money is used to pay public servants' salaries, build infrastructure like roads, fund medical care, and support welfare.

At this point, I'm already contributing to society.

In short, there's a fact that people who earn a lot of money contribute the most to society.

That's how the system works.

If this system didn't exist, Japan would be finished.

#Let'sBeGratefulToAllTheRichPeopleAcrossJapan

Also, this project isn't a mandatory purchase for everyone, and there's compensation (you get the calendar).

If

my business model were

『I want to support children, so everyone must pay me money! Then I'll donate what's left after taking out my living expenses!』

If that were the case, please punch me. Punch me with the hardest thing you have at home.

In the first place, if the only goal were to support others,

we wouldn't need a calendar.

We wouldn't need all those donation T-shirts across Japan either.

#That'sTooFar

#I'llNeverWearIt

#I'mGoingTooFar

But I'm going to do it.

Because simply donating cash is too difficult, lacks motivation, has no entertainment value, and results in smaller donations and lower awareness.

Also, do people who say, "I donate at convenience stores!" know who that money is donated to?

I deliberately use the word "support" more than "donation."

#I'veBeenUsingItLately

In short, giving money is support, giving something you've bought is support, and providing free labor is support.

In this project, I will also share the details of that support.

So, everyone,

You'll feel like, "I saved this child's life with the 2,000 yen I paid!!"

That's the feeling I want you to have!

Also,

『You say it's for support, but you're taking money!』

Do people who say that donate cash?

I don't do that at all.

But I would buy a calendar from Okinawa, and I would buy a calendar from Australia.

I've bought many support products in the past.

That's because they have entertainment value and offer tangible compensation.

That's exactly why I have the right to be paid for the effort it takes to make you decide to buy.

In fact, whether I do this project, or a major printing company, a fire department, or the government does it, the entire process of using someone's time to make a product and sell it costs money.

I'll take a small amount for that labor cost.

It would be strange not to.

However!!!

If I abuse that right and waste money, the amount donated will decrease.

That's why I decided to start this as a solo business.

Because if I could, I'd want to gather volunteers and have everyone work together with lots of fun.

#When I played high school baseball, my team had 100 members

#I worked in an organization of 200 people for 15 years

#I invited 300 people to my wedding

#No one wants to have fun with everyone like I do

#So I'm pretty lonely

However, if I did that, labor costs would skyrocket. There would be no money left for support.

I'm just a calendar seller.

The same thing would happen if I outsourced everything from website creation and product development to social media management and sales.

The more people I involve, the less money is left for support.

I'll say it again: that's why I'm starting this as a solo business.

From building an e-commerce site with no prior experience to learning Illustrator and doing everything myself by watching YouTube videos and searching online, I'm doing it little by little.

This is to increase the amount donated.

That's why this project cannot be fully outsourced.

What's more, I don't plan to make a living solely from this calendar project.

I'm planning three other ways to earn money.

#I'll earn a lot and pay a lot in taxes

But doing all that at the same time is simply not possible given my current situation.

So for now, I plan to take a small amount from sales for the work I do, reduce unnecessary expenses, and increase the percentage of the proceeds donated.

If I can get it to that point, I won't even need to be involved.

By then, I'll be able to donate everything left after paying for outsourced work.

That's my goal.

So please.

Please wait just a little longer.

And please refrain from making

『Oda Seishiro is taking money!』

comments.

In return, I will donate all the profits.

In fact, the executive compensation I plan to receive is way, way lower than my current annual income.

My dream is

to gather the power of firefighters

and help a lot of people.

To sum it up!

My main goal is to help children!

And since I'm doing this as a job,

I will receive a very small amount of money!

However, that money is just to keep me going until I can start other businesses.

#If you think I should be doing this while working as a firefighter, please read another article

#I'm not going to explain it here anymore

So please don't say,

『You hypocritical octopus man!!』

or anything like that.

No, you can say it if you buy 10 copies. Lol

#WhyTheHell

#That'sHowChildrenAreSaved

Even after hearing this explanation

"I don't really get it! It's just some squid-person who makes money by exploiting firefighters for sex! Squid-people are less than human! I'll stab you with a squid jig!"

#WhatTheHellIsASquidPerson

#Don'tConfuseASquidPersonWithAHumanSquid

If you think this is what they mean, please tell me what part you don't understand!

So, today was

"Something I Want to Say Before Things Get Heated"

In terms of firefighting activities, it was about

fire prevention(^^)

See you tomorrow!
