64 Days Left: The First and Only Rescue Symposium

Hello!!

This is Oda, and I'm on a plane from Saga Airport to Haneda Airport. I requested a window seat and was looking forward to it, but the sunlight is so intense that I've had the shade down the whole time.

Here I go. Rescue Symposium 2023.

I'm typing up this article on the plane.

Well. Let's see.

Oda is about to land in the city of Tokyo.

I'm feeling a mix of emotions.

I'm really happy that I get to attend the Rescue Symposium, which I've wanted to go to for a long time.

But at the same time, I'm sad because this is my first and last time.

I'm excited to see what I'll learn and who I'll meet.

I'm worried about whether I'll be able to make it to my hotel and the venue.

I'm praying that I don't get into any trouble.

Well, all these different feelings are racing through my mind.

I felt the same way when I went to see someone in Okinawa.

That was the first time I ever flew alone, and I was incredibly nervous. I even lost my boarding pass for a moment, so this time I'm checking my phone, wallet, and boarding pass about every five minutes.

Well, all this has taught me that when your life changes, you shouldn't just let it happen—you have to take action yourself.

I really wanted to attend this symposium, so I had to speak to someone directly to make it happen.

Ultimately, you're the one who has to make the decisions in your own life.

If you keep saying things like

what someone said to you

or how someone might think of you,

then seriously,

you'll end up blaming others when things don't go well.

Ultimately, you're responsible.

Seeing children take on new challenges really makes me believe that.

Ah, how should I put it? Yeah.

In short, I'm excited.

But this is probably a good kind of excitement.

If I can fully embrace this excitement and see it through, I'll be able to feel a sense of accomplishment when it's over.

It was the same when I flew to Okinawa in three seconds flat to see someone.

I was excited.

But I had to take action.

But the second half of my life

is going to be lived in a world where this is always happening.

I really think this is true to who I am!!

My roots are definitely in being hungry.

With an empty stomach,

I've actually taken action on new things and things I needed to do.

I'm a hungry caterpillar.

I wander around looking for food, eat, overeat until my stomach hurts, become a pupa, and finally turn into a magnificent butterfly.

So it's the same this time.

If you keep taking small actions over and over again, before you know it, things will start moving!

That's how it works.

I wonder what kind of encounters I'll have tomorrow.

For now, when I get to the venue,

I'm going to greet everyone with a big voice.

Sorry this article is kind of empty of substance.

I'll write the next article on the way home, so it should be much more substantial!!

So look forward to it☺️

This was Oda☺️
