82 Days to Go – 365-Day Calendar ①

Hey there!

This time, I want to reveal what's been going on in my head regarding our biggest flagship product, the 365-day tear-off calendar.

・A truly pioneering first-of-its-kind endeavor

Some of you may know this, but the firefighter calendar business has been a global standard for a long time, starting with Australian firefighters (31 years ago) and extending to as far as I can research, Canada, China, South Korea, Taiwan, various European countries, and dozens of U.S. states.

Rather, it simply hasn't taken root in Japan, and continuing it while working in Japan is quite difficult.

#I'll explain the reasons in full at some point

#That's why I'm quitting my job in my 15th year!Whoa

#I'm crazy, aren't I?

So

I'm going to gather handsome, muscular firefighters from all over the country for this!

#It's going to be tough

#But I'm going to do it

・How will I gather them?

I'm a firefighter in Saga Prefecture in Kyushu.

After working for 15 years, I have acquaintances all over Saga Prefecture.

I have a few in Kyushu.

However, I feel that if we rely too much on firefighters from Kyushu, a nationwide movement won't happen.

#Will people in Hokkaido buy a calendar featuring only firefighters from Kyushu?

#Even at Koshien, if you don't know what's going on, you'll still cheer for a nearby team if your own prefecture loses, right?

#It's the same thing

So I had an idea.

'Japan is divided into regions, right?'

I quickly Googled it

and found that Japan can be divided into7 regions:

Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kinki, Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu

.

It came up.

If there are7 regions, then365➗7is52 people

52... people?

'Hmm, that's a bit many, and I want to break it down further so it's easier to support them.'

So

I'll divide Kanto into North and South

add Tokai

add Hokuriku

and divide Kyushu and Okinawa

and11 regions.

365➗11is33 people

Yeah! That's it!

With a clear vision of gathering33 people from each region, it seems achievable!

It sounds like fun, with each group being like a team!

'Team? This is a calendar... calendars have numbers... that's it!!'

So, I decided to divide them into10 groups!

And I decided to link each group to the1s digit of the day.

Then0–9 can be divided into10 groups.

1st day is1

15th day is5

28th day is8

19th day is9

and so on.

Applying this to each region,

0 (Shikoku)35 people

1  (Kyushu)43 people

2–8  (Tohoku, Chugoku, Hokuriku, North Kanto, South Kanto, Kinki, Tokai)36 people

9 (Hokkaido)35 people

Total365 people!

To give a more concrete example,

1st month8th day is a Tokai region firefighter

5th month29th day is a Hokkaido firefighter

11th month11th day is a Kyushu firefighter

and so on.

By doing this, the team divisions become clear, and I think they'll develop a sense of camaraderie.

So, this time

I've shared the goal of the 365-day calendar ①!

Next time, I'll share the continuation!

#It's going to be fun
