75 Days Left: Why I’m Starting a Business (Part 2)

Hey there!

I'm Oda, a humanities guy!

I recently realized that I write a blog every day,

and when I thought, "Yeah, I wrote a pretty good piece today!"

I wondered, "Wait, how many characters have I written?"

When I checked, it ranged from 2,500 to as many as 6,500 characters.

# Pretty impressive, right?

True, I write the blog while raising a child, so I end up pausing about 70 times during each post.

Every time, I think, "Wait, what was I writing?" and have to read it from the beginning.

Then I think, "Oh, I was writing about this!" and start writing again.

So on average, I think it takes me about 1 to 3 hours to write a 3,000-character blog post.

When I looked into it further, I found that business books contain between 60,000 and 120,000 characters.

What does that mean?

It means I'm writing enough 6,000-character articles to fill a book in 10 days.

Furthermore, if the average is 2,500 characters, then 100 articles = 250,000 characters,

which means I could publish four business books just from the "Preparing to Start a Business" series.

This period (preparing to start a business) only happens once in a lifetime.

So, although it's incredibly tough, I want to keep going without giving up and post for 100 consecutive days.

And someday,

I might even publish a book called

"Amateur Entrepreneur's Diary: The Story of a Firefighter Earning 5 Million Yen a Year Who Donated 100 Million Yen in Five Years."

Then, I think this blog will become truly meaningful!

To do that, I'm going to make this business a success and save lots of children!!!

So, that's the longest introduction ever.

Yesterday, I shared the first part of the reasons, so in this second part, I'll explain why I chose this business.

# That's not getting straight to the point at all.

Of course, there isn't just one reason.

If I list them roughly:

・It sounds fun

・I know how incredible firefighters' energy is

・I want firefighters from all over the country to become friends

・The profit margin is high (the donation amount is high)

And above all

・I just love helping people (no sugarcoating it)

That's how it is.

Among those,

I'll talk about "I just love helping people."

I don't remember when it started, but I really love taking action for other people.

That said, anyone can say that, so how about I list a few of my achievements in helping people?

・Reconstruction volunteer work for the Kumamoto earthquakes

・Reconstruction volunteer work for the Saga heavy rains (Reiwa 1, 2, and 3)

・Volunteer at the 2020 Olympic reception camp

・Two years of waste sorting volunteer work at Sunset Live

・Seven years of booth volunteer work at Sunset Live

・Asked to perform at weddings 50 times

・Performed at weddings alone 11 times

・Hosted wedding after-parties 30 times

・Approached people who looked troubled 8,000 times

Well, it's a bit embarrassing to say it myself, but since this is a blog, I have no choice but to say it, so I do my best whenever I'm asked to do something. I simply love taking action for other people.

That's the basic premise.

And, you might be surprised.

I'm not a muscle fanatic, nor have I ever joined a gym.

# But I was born with a pretty muscular build

# Don't get mad at me, you real muscle guys

# I'm just a speck compared to your level

So, I didn't write that I like working out or that I like muscles as a reason, right?

So far, I don't particularly like working out, and my interest in looking at muscular people is only slightly above average.

However!!

I think it would be weird if the guy making the Firefighter Muscle Calendar wasn't muscular, so I'm going to join a gym for the first time in my life, aim to win a physique competition, and train with all my might!

# I think it's an important part of the job

# I'll definitely win someday

So, although I've known about this business around the world for 10 years, I didn't think about doing it as my own business until recently, and honestly, it hasn't been a long-time dream.

But now!

I'm completely hooked!

Both on making the Firefighter Muscle Calendar and training myself!

My goal isn't to make a calendar, but to save children!

The calendar is just a means to that end!

It's just one of many ways people are supporting various causes!

The method I chose was the Firefighter Muscle Calendar!

So, the reason why I chose this business is simply

"Because I want to help people."

That was the whole uninteresting article!

# Sorry about that

I'm waiting for lots of comments!!

I'm also waiting for messages on LINE!!
