Hey there!
It's Oda, and I'm already starting to make the 2025 calendar even though 2024 hasn't even arrived yet!
#I guess you can never be too prepared
Today, I'd like to confess that I'm working too slowly because I don't know the right words for the product I've started making.
First of all, this calendar is not something made just for fun, but
① a product to continuously carry out the firefighter calendar business in Japan
② a product that customers pay money to buy
So,
it's not like, "Yay! It's done for this year!"
I think I need to have the skills to make it efficiently not only next year and the year after, but also 30 years from now.
To put it more simply, in order to use the money I receive from everyone for the children, it is important to increase the donation amount while keeping costs as low as possible.
I want to avoid a situation where, for example, people buy a 2,000 yen calendar, but because I'm sloppy with production costs and whatnot, it ends up costing 1,900 yen, leaving only 100 yen to donate!
#Anyone can do it that way
The goal I'm aiming for this time is that by Oda himself being able to do everything, the amount donated will be completely different in the long run!
That's the point!
So, at first, I plan to handle website creation, product development, logistics, SNS management, public relations, and door-to-door sales all by myself!
And when I reach a certain line (where doing everything by myself eventually reduces the donation amount), I want to outsource the necessary parts!
And when outsourcing,
・Should I entrust tasks that Oda himself can do to someone else?
・Should I completely dump off things that Oda doesn't know at all?
One factor is that I won't be able to judge whether the nuances are being conveyed correctly when outsourcing, or whether the amount charged by the outsourcing company is appropriate.
So, working backward from that, the phenomenon of starting to make the 2025 calendar in October 2023 is occurring.
#This is a technique that only someone currently working as a firefighter can do
#I should explain things carefully to my boss when I change jobs
#I haven't done it yet
#I should build a solid relationship with them before that
So, the preamble was incredibly long, but here's the main topic.
・What is "Adobe Illustrator"?
When I try to download a free template from a calendar company, I can't open any of the files!
Why?
When I looked into it, it seems like I need that software? app? and it seems to be paid, so I'm stuck there.
I tried to make it with an app called Canva, but considering the long term and that I'll eventually ask a calendar company to print it, I thought it would be better to figure out the true identity of that English thing, so I stopped making it with Canva for now.
#I might use it again
So first of all
Adobe Illustrator
※Read as Adobe Illustrator
Do you know it?
That was the story!
To summarize this story,
No matter how comfortably you work in your own field,
the moment you jump into a neighbor's field you don't know,
you won't even be allowed to talk unless you use tools you've never seen or heard of.
I realized that Oda is completely treated like a baby in the EC industry right now.
That's the story!
#Waaaah, waaaah
#The world is wide
Alright! Let's do it!
This was Oda Seishiro!
Come again!
